My second year of learning English in junior high school has been a journey full of challenges and triumphs. Looking back, I can vividly recall the struggles I encountered when I first started learning the language. However, I am happy to say that with the help of my teachers and some hard work on my part, I have made significant progress.

Writing about My Second Year of Learning English in Junior High School

When I first started taking English lessons in junior high school, I realized that there was a lot to learn. The phonetics, the vocabulary, the grammar, and the pronunciation- everything seemed so overwhelming. I struggled to understand even the most basic of concepts, and the words we learned seemed like a jumble of letters with no meaning. But, I was determined not to give up.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was speaking in class. I was very shy and lacked confidence in speaking English. Often, I would be too afraid to speak out during class or even ask a question. However, my teachers who continuously encouraged me to speak confidently soon helped to break me out of my shell.

One day my teacher assigned us a group project, and I was paired with two fellow students, who were also struggling like me. Our task was to prepare a presentation in English about our favorite book. Despite the fact that we all found it challenging to express ourselves in English, we soon realized that we had to work together to complete the task.

We spent countless hours planning and rehearsing our presentation; we made sure to use the proper grammar and pronunciation of words. On the day of the presentation, we stood in front of the class, our hearts pounding. But, once we started speaking, all our fears melted away, and we found ourselves surprisingly at ease. We delivered our presentation smoothly, with confidence, and when it was over, the whole class applauded us. That was one of the proudest moments in my life.

Another challenge I faced was the constant need to improve my vocabulary. Every time, we had a lesson, and new words were introduced, I would take time to study and memorize them. Sometimes, I would create flashcards or use phone apps that make learning fun, to help me practiсe.

Additionally, I always made it a point to read English books or watch English movies to help me build fluency. I also listened to English music, which helped me improve my pronunciation and understand idiomatic expressions. Doing these activities outside class helped me to engage with the language and make it a part of my daily life.

Writing, too, was another challenging aspect of my English studies. I struggled to write even a few simple sentences when I first started. But with practice and the guidance of my teacher, I learned to structure my ideas and convey them in a concise manner.

Practice, was the key to success in English writing. I learned to write a variety of compositions such as descriptive essays, narrations, reports, and letters which helped me build and apply different writing skills. We did a lot of peer-editing sessions, which allowed us to learn from each other and improve our writing skills.

In conclusion, my second year of learning English in junior high school has been a significant milestone in my educational journey, and I am grateful for it. Through hard work, determination, and the support of my teachers, I am happy to say that I have made significant strides in my English language abilities. I no longer feel overwhelmed by the language, and I have the confidence to speak and write fluently. Although, there is still much to learn; I am now more than ever, determined to continue improving my English language skills in the years to come.
