How I Spent My Productive Summer Break: My English Writing Experience
As a student, I always look forward to summer break as it is a time when I get to rest, relax and unwind after a year of hectic school work. However, this summer break was different. I wanted to use my time productively, and one of my goals was to improve my English writing skills.
At the beginning of the summer break, I started researching on various resources and tools that I could use to improve my writing. I downloaded English writing apps, subscribed to writing blogs and even signed up for an online writing course. I set aside at least one hour every day to learn something new and put it into practice.
The first resource that I used was an English writing app that helped me with my grammar and sentence structure. I realised that my writing was often confusing and lacked clarity. This app helped me to identify common mistakes and provided suggestions on how to improve my writing. It was easy to use and was a great tool to use when I needed to check quickly if my work was error-free.
Another resource that I found useful was an online writing course that I signed up for. The course covered everything from the basics of writing to the more advanced skills such as storytelling and plot development. I found the course to be engaging and interactive, and it allowed me to learn at my own pace. The course also had an online forum where I could discuss my writing and receive feedback from other writers.
The writing blogs that I subscribed to were also a great resource. They provided me with writing tips, advice and motivation to keep writing. I often found myself visiting these blogs when I needed inspiration or when I was stuck on a particular piece of writing.
One thing that I found challenging was coming up with ideas for my writing. I often struggled with writer’s block, and this was frustrating. I came up with a solution to this problem by creating a writing journal. Every day, I would write down ideas, observations and thoughts that I could use in my writing. This journal also helped me to develop my writing skills by allowing me to experiment with different writing styles and techniques.
Towards the end of the summer break, I felt more confident in my writing skills, and I decided to put my skills to the test by writing an article for my school’s newsletter. I spent several days researching and drafting my article, then I got feedback from my English teacher. The feedback that I received was positive, and my teacher congratulated me on my improvement.
In conclusion, my summer break was a period of growth and development for me. I spent my time productively by using various resources to improve my English writing skills. I learned how to identify and correct mistakes in my writing, developed my creativity and gained confidence in my ability to write. I am grateful for the experience and look forward to continuing my journey in becoming a better writer.
