　　As I look back at my progress in writing English essays during the second semester of grade eight, I can see how much I have improved in my writing skills. I remember how I used to struggle with essay writing at the beginning of the semester, but now I feel much more confident in expressing my thoughts and ideas in English.

　　One of the major factors that helped me improve my essay writing skills is consistent practice. Throughout the semester, I was given various writing assignments, such as descriptive essays, opinion essays, and argumentative essays. These assignments allowed me to practice and develop different aspects of my writing, such as my sentence structure, vocabulary, and grammar.

　　Another factor that helped me improve my writing skills was receiving feedback from my teacher. After submitting an essay, I would receive detailed feedback from my teacher on areas where I could improve. These feedbacks helped me to understand my weaknesses and highlight areas where I needed to focus my attention.
